จำนวนค่าใช้จ่ายเฉลี่ยของผู้เยี่ยมเยือน นักท่องเที่ยว และนักทัศนาจร

ผู้เยี่ยมเยือน (Visitors) หมายถึง ผู้ที่เดินทางไปยังสถานที่ยังสถานที่อื่น ที่ไม่ใช่ถิ่นพำนักปกติ (Usual environment) เป็นเวลาน้อยกว่า 1 ปี เพื่อวัตถุประสงค์ใด ๆ เช่น ท่องเที่ยว พักผ่อน ติดต่อธุรกิจ เป็นต้น โดยที่ไม่ได้รับผลตอบแกนจากนายจ้างที่ เป็นผู้พำนักในถิ่น พำนักนั้น ๆ ดังนั้น การเดินทางตามลักษณะดังกล่าว จะถือว่าเป็นการเดินทางเพื่อการก่องเกี่ยว (Tourism trips) และเรียกผู้ที่เดินทางว่า "ผู้เยี่ยมเยือน" ซึ่งสามารถแบ่ง ออกเป็น 2 ประเภท ได้แก่ นักท่องเที่ยว (Tourist) คือ ผู้มาเยี่ยมเยือนที่เดินทางไปเยือน และพำนักอยู่ใน สถานที่ดังกล่าว (ประเทศ/จังหวัด) เป็นเวลาอย่างน้อย 1 คืน (Overnight Stay) และนักทัศนาจร (Excursionist) คือ ผู้มาเยี่ยมเยือน ที่เดินทางไปเยือนสถานที่ดังกล่าว (ประเทศ/จังหวัด) โดยไม่พักค้างคืน (Same-day visitor)
